Human Rights Awareness Programme

The Department of Economics SF and Public Administration of Kamaraj College Autonomous Thoothukudi jointly organized a meaningful PASA Clever Club Activity in observance of Human Rights Day. The programme was held on 10 December 2025 from 12.00 p.m. to 01.00 p.m. at Bharathiyar Block Room 315.

The event aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of human rights and their role in ensuring justice equality and dignity in society. The programme provided an excellent platform for students to understand constitutional values and social responsibility.

Significance of Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10 to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations. The day highlights the importance of protecting basic human rights and promoting equality peace and justice across the world.

By organizing the Human Rights Awareness Programme, the departments reinforced the idea that awareness and education are essential tools in building a fair and inclusive society.

Resource Person and Guest Address

The resource person for the programme was Mr. B. Dhiliban BA BL, Advocate, District Court Thoothukudi. He delivered an insightful and informative lecture on the importance of human rights in everyday life.

During his address, Mr. Dhiliban explained the basic human rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India. He spoke about the rights to equality freedom education and justice and emphasized how these rights protect individuals from discrimination and injustice.
