The Universal Health Coverage Day Awareness Programme was conducted with purpose and enthusiasm at Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 12th December 2025, from 12.00 p.m. to 12.45 p.m. The event took place at the Swami Vivekananda Block and was organised for the NSS Units 54, 56 & 145, aiming to educate students on the importance of health, hygiene, and proactive wellness practices.
Every year, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day is observed on December 12, following the United Nations General Assembly’s recognition of health as a fundamental human right. In alignment with this worldwide effort, Kamaraj College organised a meaningful awareness session to inspire young citizens to take responsibility for their personal health and contribute to a healthier India.
Objective of the Awareness Programme
The primary goals of the programme were:
- to highlight the importance of Universal Health Coverage,
- to educate students on maintaining health and hygiene,
- to promote awareness of preventive care,

- to motivate students to play an active role in building a healthy future India.
