Report on Freedom Quest 2026 Inter-School Quiz Competition
Freedom Quest 2026, an Inter-School Quiz Competition, was organized by the Quizophoria Quiz Club of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, on 11 August 2026 as part of the 80th Independence Day Celebrations. The programme carried the inspiring message, “Celebrating Freedom, Inspiring Patriotism, Igniting Young Minds.”
A total of seven teams from schools across Thoothukudi participated in the competition. The quiz was open to students from Classes IX to XII and provided them with an engaging platform to demonstrate their knowledge of India.
Objectives of Freedom Quest 2026
Freedom Quest 2026 aimed to kindle patriotism among school students while encouraging them to explore India’s history, heritage and achievements.
The key objectives included:
- Promote patriotism and national pride among students
- Create awareness about India’s freedom struggle
- Improve knowledge of the Indian Constitution

Seven teams representing schools from across Thoothukudi participated enthusiastically in the quiz.

Quiz Masters Lead Freedom Quest 2026
Dr. A. Velkumar, Convener – Quizophoria, and Mr. MuthuKumarasamy served as the quiz masters for the competition.
They guided the participants through the various themes and ensured an engaging contest. Their coordination helped maintain enthusiasm throughout the programme while providing students with an enjoyable learning experience.
First Prize – ₹5,000
S. Dharsa and R. Allen Paul of Class XI from KAMAK Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thoothukudi, secured the First Prize and received a cash award of ₹5,000.
Their performance earned them the top position among the seven participating teams.
Second Prize – ₹3,000
S. Santhosh Kumar and R. Deepak Kannan of Class XI from DMNS Dr. Sivanthi Adithanar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thoothukudi, won the Second Prize with a cash award of ₹3,000.
Their strong performance demonstrated excellent knowledge and teamwork.
Third Prize – ₹1,000
M. Venkatesh and R. Selvamani of Class XI from Bharat Ratna Kamarajar Matriculation School, Thoothukudi, secured the Third Prize and received a cash award of ₹1,000.
Their achievement added to the competitive spirit of the programme.
Promoting Patriotism Through Knowledge
Beyond competition, Freedom Quest 2026 encouraged students to understand the sacrifices behind India’s independence and appreciate the country’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage.
