District Level Cultural Competitions 2025 – A Celebration of Youth Talent
The District Level Cultural Competitions 2025 were successfully organized by the NSS Unit 218 and NSS Unit 244 of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 05.12.2025 at the prestigious Kamarajar Kalvi Arangam from 09.30 am to 04.00 pm. The event proudly served as a vibrant platform for young talents to showcase their rich artistic skills and cultural excellence.

Event Commencement and Cultural Welcome
The program began with a soulful cultural opening. The audience was greeted with a beautiful welcome dance by MBA student Ms. Jegatheeswari, followed by a melodious welcome song performed by NSS volunteer Mr. Solairaja. The performances set the stage for a day filled with creativity, enthusiasm, and artistic celebrations.
Welcome Address and Leadership Presence
Dr. R. Karuppasamy, NSS Programme Officer, Unit 218, and District Nodal Officer of the competitions, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, participants, and attendees, marking the formal beginning of the event.
The ceremony was presided over by Thiru. P. S. P. K. J. Somu, Secretary of Kamaraj College, who highlighted the significance of cultural development in the holistic education of youth.
Dr. K. Bhanumathi, Principal of Kamaraj College, delivered the presidential address, appreciating the enthusiasm of the participating youth and NSS volunteers.

The chief guest of the event was Mr. D. Sivapugal, Assistant Director of the Regional Art and Cultural Centre, Tirunelveli. He inaugurated the competitions and encouraged the youth to embrace India’s traditional art forms.

Road to State & National Level Championships
The winners of the District Level Cultural Competitions 2025 earned a golden opportunity to represent Thoothukudi district at the State Level Competitions in Chennai.
