FIDE rated chess tournament – 4th place
B. Velmurugan, a first-year M.A. Economics student, secured 4th place in the “Rating Below 1800” category at the International FIDE-rated Chess Tournament held at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, from June 18 to 22, 2025. He received a cash prize of ₹4,000 for his achievement.
