This impactful awareness programme was thoughtfully designed to reach out to young students and educate them on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of staying drug-free.

Objective of Youth Against Drugs Workshop

The primary objective of Youth Against Drugs Workshop was to sensitize students about the growing threat of drug abuse among youth. The session aimed to encourage personal responsibility, social accountability, and mental resilience among the participants, ensuring they become informed and confident members of society. It also sought to create a strong anti-drug culture within the campus by promoting positive peer influence.

Chief Guest Address: Practical Insights from the Narcotics Bureau

Youth Against Drugs Workshop was graced by the presence of Thiru. M. Murugan, Sub-Inspector of the Narcotics Bureau, CID, who delivered a compelling address. Drawing from his real-world experience in the field, the Chief Guest gave a powerful talk on the serious implications of drug addiction. His presentation covered the physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug abuse, and it was tailored to resonate with young minds.

Through engaging storytelling and live examples, he explained how even occasional substance use can lead to long-term damage, criminal involvement, and shattered families. His interaction with the students was open, honest, and informative, encouraging them to ask questions and express their views on peer pressure, addiction triggers, and how to support a friend in need.

Guests of Honour: Support from Law Enforcement

Adding to the strength of the session, Head Constable Thiru. T. Kasamuthu and Constable Thiru. C. David Adams also attended the event as Guests of Honour. They shared their practical insights into local drug-related challenges and the various preventive steps taken by the police. Their messages reinforced the importance of community awareness and proactive involvement by youth in keeping their environments safe and drug-free.
