The Three Day “Future Young Leaders Boot Camp” was successfully organized by NSS Unit 218, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi from 09 January 2026 to 11 January 2026, between 08.30 a.m. and 05.00 p.m., at Annammal College of Education for Women, Thoothukudi. This residential leadership programme was designed to nurture confidence, discipline, and social responsibility among young women students from various colleges across Thoothukudi district.

The camp was initiated with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, My Bharat Kendra, Thoothukudi District, and in association with Heartfulness Institute and Annammal College of Education for Women.

Grand Inauguration and Key Dignitaries

The boot camp was inaugurated with a dignified opening ceremony, graced by eminent guests from both administrative and financial sectors. The chief guests for the inaugural function were:

  • Capt. P. Bennet Singh, Harbour Master, VOC Port Authority, Thoothukudi
  • Mr. A. Alwin Martin Joseph, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Thoothukudi

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. A. Joycilin Shermila, Principal, Annammal College of Education for Women. In her address, she highlighted the importance of empowering young women with leadership qualities, resilience, and moral values to face future challenges.

Participation and Beneficiaries

The Young Leaders Boot Camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS fourth girl volunteers representing various colleges across Thoothukudi district. The valedictory function was graced by Dr. K. Bhanumathi, Principal, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, as the chief guest. In her address, she praised the participants for their commitment and active engagement throughout the three-day programme.
