Yoga Training – English Dept.

On June 21, 2024, TQI volunteers from the PG & Research Department of English (SF), Kamaraj College organized a vibrant celebration on the International Yoga Day. To grace the day they visited the Nesakarangal orphanage in Thoothukudi. The event was designed to promote the benefits of yoga, to the children of the orphanage.
The event commenced with an educational session where volunteers explained the significance of yoga and its various uses in maintaining physical and mental health. This introduction was well-received by the children, who showed keen interest and curiosity.
Following the interactive session, practical demonstrations of yoga postures were conducted. The children actively participated, and learned basic poses and experienced the calming effects of yoga. Their joy and engagement were evident throughout their activities.
As part of the celebration, snacks and pencil kits were distributed to the attendees. This gesture added to the overall positive experience for the volunteers.
Feedback from both volunteers and participants was overwhelmingly positive. The volunteers expressed satisfaction in sharing their knowledge, while the children thoroughly enjoyed the unique learning experience offered on Yoga Day.
In conclusion, the TQI volunteers successfully promoted the practice of yoga among children, fostering a spirit of health and well-being. It was a memorable event for them that underscored the importance of physical fitness and mindfulness through yoga practice.
