Yoga State Level Competition – NSS Units 54 & 56

NSS units 54 & 56 in association with Kamaraj School & Shine yoga power organised an Yoga event. Sathyaraj, DSP, Thoothukudi Town, innagurated the event with lighting the kuthuvilakku. In this innagural address, he emphasized to do yoga, and how this helps not only for physical fitness but also for mental health. Mr.Anantharaj, Secretary, Kamaraj school , Mr.Somu, Secretary, Kamaraj College, Mr.Muthuselvam, Treasurer, Kamaraj College, Mrs.Carmel, Principal, Kamaraj School, Dr.J.Poongudi, Principal I/C, Kamaraj College, felicitated the event. Nearly 500 students from various schools participated in this event. And around 70 students did Surya Namaskar 108 times at Kamaraj School. This program made the students to understand practicing yoga at young age helps one to be more fit and for overall positive attitude towards life. In the successive day, selection for state level yoga was conducted. In this, 300 students from other districts Madurai, Thiruchirappalli, Thirunelveli and Nagercoil participated. Volunteers of NSS unit 54 & 56 made all the arrangements for this two day program.
