World Hepatitis Day Awareness: 10 Powerful Lessons on Liver Health

Introduction

The World Hepatitis Day Awareness programme was successfully organized by the Domain Club of the Department of Zoology of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 28 July 2026.

The programme was conducted to educate students about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis. It aimed to create awareness about the importance of liver health, early detection of hepatitis infections, vaccination, hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices.

Objectives of the Programme

The World Hepatitis Day Awareness programme was organized to promote health awareness among students.

The major objectives of the programme were:

The programme commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Rohini of III B.Sc Zoology.

She welcomed the resource person, faculty members and students. Her welcome address created a positive beginning to the World Hepatitis Day Awareness programme and encouraged students to actively participate in the session.

Resource Person of the Programme

The resource person for the programme was Mr. Balagurusamy.

He delivered an informative and engaging session on hepatitis, its causes, symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention and treatment. His explanations helped students understand the importance of liver health and the need to follow preventive healthcare practices.
