Workshop on Telescope Making – Dept. of Physics

Astronomical telescopes are invaluable tools for teaching and inspiring people about the wonders of the universe, since they allow direct observation of celestial phenomena. To make the subject Astrophysics an interesting one, a workshop on ‘Telescope making ‘ was organised. Students learnt the types of telescope, its making and assembling, the astronomical things to be observed and how and when it will be observed. Dr. J.Poongodi, Principal sponsored an astronomical telescope to enhance the students interest towards the subject. Observing celestial objects on some important days is planned to be organised for school students as well.
