
Workshop on Methods of Sampling in Social Science Research – Economics Dept.
The Department of Economics (SF) has conducted a One day workshop “Methods of Sampling in Social Science Research” on 29th January 2024 at Seminar Hall (GJ Block), Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi. This effort was made for the students of Economics to enhance their knowledge on the research frontier. Dr. S. Raman, Head & Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering and honored the resource person. The welcome Address was given by Ms. S.Pradavus, III B.A Economics student.
The resource person for the session was Dr. R. Jasmine Stanley Mary, Assistant Professor of Economics, SarahTucker College(Autonomous ), Tirunelveli and the program was organized by students of Economics,

P.Abineya (III B.A Economics). The total of 64 students has attended this workshop.
The resource person gave a clear introduction about research and important sampling techniques. The resource person further highlighted that the Understanding methods of sampling in social science research is vital as it directly impacts the reliability and validity of study findings. Proper sampling ensures representative participant selection, enhancing the generalizability of results. Accurate sampling methods contribute to the overall credibility of social science research, enabling researchers to draw meaningful conclusions and make informed decisions based on reliable data. At the end of the session, the students cleared their doubts with the resource person The session concluded with the vote of thanks, that was given by P. Abineya, III B.A Eco Student.
