Introduction to the Programme
The Women Entrepreneurs Training programme titled “Launch Your Business: Five-Day Training for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs” was successfully organized from 27 April 2026 to 1 May 2026 at the C. V. Raman Computer Science Block of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi.
The programme was conducted by IQAC and Kamaraj Startup Center in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneur Welfare Association (WEWA), Tamil Nadu. The Women Entrepreneurs Training aimed to provide practical skills, entrepreneurial exposure, and confidence to women from diverse backgrounds.
Around 30 participants including students, homemakers, and working women actively participated, making the Entrepreneurs Training a vibrant and impactful initiative.
Objectives of the Programme
The Women Entrepreneurs Training was designed to empower participants with skill-based learning and business awareness.

Day 1: Inaugural Function and Floor Mat Training
The first day of the Entrepreneurs Training began with a formal inaugural session.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. M. Gethsiyal Augasta, IQAC Coordinator, who highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship for women. The ceremonial lighting of the kuthuvilakku marked the beginning of the programme.
The felicitation address by the Principal Dr. K. Bhanumathi and Vice Principal Dr. A. Arunachala Rajan encouraged participants to utilize such training opportunities for self-reliance.
The resource person Mrs. Manju conducted a hands-on session on floor mat making, explaining materials, techniques, and marketing possibilities. This practical session set a strong foundation for the Women Entrepreneurs Training.
Day 2: Art of Cake Baking
The second day of the Entrepreneurs Training focused on baking skills.
The session was conducted by Ms. Aslin from Jas Pastry, who demonstrated the preparation of tea cakes, brownies, and butter cookies. Participants actively engaged in the session and found the techniques easy to understand.
The practical exposure encouraged participants to consider baking as a small-scale business opportunity, making the Women Entrepreneurs Training more relevant and applicable.
Day 3: Bridal Makeup Training
The third day of the Entrepreneurs Training featured a session on bridal makeup.
The session was conducted by Ms. Snowba from Grace Beauty Salon. Participants observed live demonstrations of bridal styling techniques and interacted actively with the trainer.
The session generated high interest and enthusiasm, showing how beauty services can become a profitable venture. This added diversity to the skills covered in the Women Entrepreneurs Training.
Day 4: Value Added Seafood Products
The fourth day of the Entrepreneurs Training focused on food-based entrepreneurship.
Trainer Mrs. Thanga Eswari provided practical training on preparing value-added seafood products such as crab lollipop and dry fish pickle. Participants actively engaged in hands-on preparation.
The session demonstrated how local resources can be transformed into marketable products, making the Women Entrepreneurs Training highly practical and regionally relevant.
Day 5: Soap Making and E Commerce
The fifth day of the Entrepreneurs Training covered two important areas: soap making and e-commerce.
Ms. Dulsi from Joy Essentials conducted a hands-on session on preparing natural soaps, including ingredient selection and packaging methods. Participants gained confidence in creating market-ready products.
The e-commerce session by Mrs. Salomi Nirmal provided insights into online selling, digital marketing, and platforms like Amazon. This session added a modern dimension to the Women Entrepreneurs Training.
Valedictory Function
The valedictory function of the Entrepreneurs Training was presided over by Thiru. P. S. P. K. J. Somu, Secretary of Tuticorin Education Society.
Certificates were distributed to participants, and resource persons were honored. The address by Dr. S. Senthil motivated participants to convert their skills into sustainable business ventures.
