Two Days Training Programme: Floor Mat Manufacturing – EDC

The Entrepreneur Development Cell, Kamaraj College and The Tamilnadu Women Entrepreneur Development Association jointly organized two day training programme on floor mat manufacturing from 23 to 24 of July, 2024 at Kamarajar Kalvi Arangam, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi.The event aimed to empower women with skills in floor mat manufacturing and was attended by a diverse group of participants.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. R. Karupasamy, Coordinator, Entrepreneur Development Cell (EDC). Following this, Miss Krishna Radhakrishna, Chairman, Tamilnadu Women Entrepreneurs Association provided an introductory address, setting the stage for the event.
The presidential address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. J. Poongodi, who emphasized the importance of skill development in entrepreneurship. This was followed by a felicitation address from the Vice Principal, Dr. A. Ashok, and Dr. A. Arunachalarajan, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged participants to make the most of the training.
The core training was conducted by Mrs. Manju, a seasoned trainer in floor mat manufacturing from Vellore. She shared her expertise and provided hands-on training to the participants, covering various techniques and materials used in the process.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from 150 women from Thoothukudi, 100 students from Kamaraj College, and 60 students from Kamaraj Women’s College. The diverse group of attendees ensured a rich exchange of ideas and experiences.
Apartment from that, the foor mat production unit was started at Kamaraj College.
The training program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ponnuthai, Coordinator, Entrepreneur Development Cell who expressed gratitude to all the speakers, trainers, and participants for their contributions to the event’s success.
The program was a resounding success, equipping participants with valuable skills and knowledge in floor mat manufacturing, paving the way for new entrepreneurial ventures.
