The NSS Units 218 & 244 organised The Thousand Sapling Plantation Program jointly with Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation, NTPL Thoothukudi and We Can Trust on 06.10.2024 (Sunday) at Swasam Forestation Project, Tharuvaikulam. The Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation initiated the Forestation project in 500 acres of waste land of them. For this project, they associated with NTPL and We Can Trust for planting saplings in 15 acres. They started the project with action of thousand saplings plantation as first phase. The event inaugurated by our honorable meyor of Thoothukudi Mr.N.P.Jegan. Totally 45 students from NSS Units 218 & 244 participated and planted 250 saplings. The event successfully coordinated by Dr.R.Karuppasamy and Mrs.K.Indira, NSS Programme Officers.
