The Research Department of Computer Science at Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, proudly inaugurated the much-anticipated “Techno Holics 2025” – Domain Club on 26th July 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the college’s state-of-the-art Smart Hall. The event marked a significant milestone in encouraging technical innovation, leadership, and collaboration among students.

The ceremony commenced with the dignified rendition of Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, setting a respectful and cultural tone for the event. Following this, A. Mohammad Raheef of I B.Sc. (Computer Science) delivered a warm Welcome Address, outlining the objectives of the Domain Club and the importance of creating a vibrant tech community.

Dr. V. Joseph Peter, Head of the Department of Computer Science, honored the Domain Club members and extended a gracious welcome to the Chief Guest, Dr. S. Sumathi, Assistant Professor in Computer Science Engineering at University V.O.C. College of Engineering, Thoothukudi. The Domain Club Coordinator, Dr. M. Gethsiyal Augasta, presented a shawl to the Chief Guest as a token of respect and appreciation.

The event continued with the formal introduction of the newly elected office bearers of the “Techno Holics 2025” Domain Club. M. Patchiammal of III B.Sc. (CS) introduced the office bearers with enthusiasm, celebrating the commitment and vision they bring to the club. The Chief Guest encouraged the team by presenting a memento, signifying support and motivation for the club’s future endeavors.

M. Bala Vasanth, President of the Domain Club, took the stage to present the vision and mission of “Techno Holics 2025.” He emphasized the club’s goal of fostering technical excellence, creativity, and hands-on learning through various activities, workshops, and industry interaction. The aim is to empower students with domain-specific knowledge that complements their academic curriculum.

The highlight of the event was the guest lecture delivered by Dr. S. Sumathi, titled “From Code to Cognition: AI’s Impact on IT Roles.” The session explored how Artificial Intelligence is transforming the IT industry, with key insights into emerging trends, job role evolution, and the competencies students need to build to stay relevant.

Dr. Sumathi emphasized the need for adaptability, critical thinking, and upskilling in the face of rapid AI advancements. Students responded with curiosity and thoughtful engagement, indicating a strong interest in the topic.

Dr. S. Senthil, Vice Principal of Kamaraj College, also addressed the students, shedding light on the critical role that clubs and co-curricular activities play in shaping a student’s leadership, confidence, and technical skills. He encouraged students to take active roles and make full use of the platform provided by the Domain Club.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by M. Kanmani of II B.Sc. (CS), who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, coordinators, and student participants. She acknowledged the tireless efforts of the organizing team and praised the enthusiastic response from the student community.

The program concluded with the National Anthem, symbolizing unity, integrity, and respect for the nation. The launch of “Techno Holics 2025” marked the beginning of a vibrant new chapter for the Department of Computer Science, promising a series of events, workshops, coding contests, and speaker sessions that would further enhance the learning environment.
