Swadeshi Awareness Programme

The Swadeshi Awareness Programme was successfully organised on Monday, 19 January 2026, from 01.30 p.m. to 03.15 p.m. at the Kamarajar Kalvi Arangam. The programme was jointly conducted by the Thoothukudi Swadeshi Awareness Movement, Kamaraj College Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 54 and 56.

The initiative aimed to promote awareness about the importance of Swadeshi principles, encouraging students to support indigenous products, strengthen the local economy, and adopt environmentally responsible practices.

Objectives of the Swadeshi Awareness Programme

The programme was designed with the following key objectives:

  • To promote awareness about the economic and social benefits of Swadeshi
  • To encourage the use of locally produced goods and services
  • To highlight the role of youth in strengthening the nation’s self-reliance

Inaugural Session and Welcome Address

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. M. Ayyanuraj, National Service Scheme Programme Officer (Unit No. 56). In his opening remarks, he emphasised the relevance of Swadeshi ideals in the modern globalised economy and the responsibility of students to support indigenous industries.

He highlighted how conscious consumer choices can directly contribute to employment generation, rural development, and national self-reliance.

Special Addresses by Distinguished Guests

The Swadeshi Awareness Programme was enriched by insightful addresses from eminent personalities:

Presidential Address and Award Presentation

The presidential address was delivered by Mr. Pechimuthu, Head of Thoothukudi Kings Training Institute. He emphasised the importance of skill development, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance in building a strong and sustainable economy.

During the programme, awards were presented to Swadeshi producers in recognition of their valuable contributions to promoting indigenous manufacturing and sustainable business practices. This gesture served as an inspiration to students, encouraging them to consider entrepreneurship rooted in local resources and traditional knowledge.

Student Participation and Engagement

A total of 250 students actively participated in the Swadeshi Awareness Programme. The sessions were interactive, informative, and thought-provoking, enabling students to engage in meaningful discussions on:

தூத்துக்குடி சுதேசி விழிப்புணர்வு இயக்கம், காமராஜ் கல்லூரி உன்னத் பாரத் அபியான் மற்றும் நாட்டுநலப்பணித்திட்டம் அணி எண்கள் 54&56 சார்பாக சுதேசி விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி காமராஜர் கல்வியரங்கில் இன்று 19-01-2026 (திங்கள் கிழமை) நடைபெற்றது. நாட்டுநலப்பணித்திட்ட அலுவலர் திரு மா.அய்யனுராஜ் (அணிஎண்-56) அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை வழங்கினார்கள்.

கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் பானுமதி, சுதேசி அகில இந்திய அமைப்பாளர் தீபக் சர்மா, சுற்றுச்சூழல் ஆர்வலர் திரு கண்ணன் ஆகியோர் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார்கள். தூத்துக்குடி கிங்ஸ் பயிற்சி நிறுவன தலைவர் பேச்சிமுத்து அவர்கள் தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார்கள்.

இந்நிகழ்வில் சுதேசி உற்பத்தியாளர்களுக்கு விருதுகள் வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. நிறைவாக சுதேசி இணை ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் செந்தில் ஆறுமுகம் அவர்கள் நன்றியுரை வழங்கிட விழா சிறப்பாக நிறைவடைந்தது.

இந்நிகழ்வில் 250 மாணவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு பயனடைந்தார்கள். நிகழ்வினை உன்னத் பாரத் அபியான் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளரும், நாட்டுநலப்பணித்திட்ட அலுவலர்களும் ( திரு பா.ஆனந்த்,  அணிஎண் -54,  திரு மா.அய்யனுராஜ், அணிஎண் -56) ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தனர்.
