Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026: Inspiring Action by 18 NSS Volunteers

Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 witnessed the active participation of NSS Units 216 and 219 of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, in a cleanliness and awareness programme held at Thoothukudi Railway Station on 22 September 2026. The programme was organised in coordination with Railway Childline, Thoothukudi, as part of the nationwide campaign observed from 17 September to 2 October 2026.

A total of 18 NSS volunteers participated in cleaning activities in and around the railway station premises and created awareness about cleanliness, public hygiene and the responsible use of public spaces. The programme reinforced the values of civic responsibility, community participation and environmental cleanliness among the volunteers and the public.

Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026

The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign provided NSS volunteers with an opportunity to translate the message of cleanliness into meaningful community action.

The participation of NSS Units 216 and 219 reflected the commitment of Kamaraj College towards encouraging students to contribute actively to public welfare and community development.

By conducting the activity at a public transportation facility, the programme also highlighted the shared responsibility of citizens in maintaining clean and hygienic public spaces.

Cleanliness Drive at Thoothukudi Railway Station

As part of the programme, the NSS volunteers undertook cleaning activities in and around the premises of Thoothukudi Railway Station.
