Students Council Investiture Ceremony

Kamaraj College (Autonomous) celebrated the Student Council Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025 to 2026 with great enthusiasm on 11 July 2025 at the Kamarajar Kalvi Arangam. The program began at 2.15 PM with the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, followed by a prayer song and the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, which set a traditional and spiritual tone. A graceful classical dance performance added elegance and cultural value to the occasion.

Dr. M. Ummu Jasmine, Student Council Coordinator, delivered the welcome address. Dr. K. Bhanumathi, Principal in charge, presided over the event and delivered an inspiring presidential address encouraging students to uphold values and lead with purpose.

Mr. P.S.P.K.J. Somu also known as Somasundaram, Secretary of Kamaraj College, attended as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the ceremony.

The key moment of the event was the investiture of the Student Council members, including the Executive Committee and the newly formed Student Action Force Commanders. The oath of office was administered by the Coordinator, and all members pledged their commitment with a unified response of “Yes, I Do”.

The Executive Committee consisted of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer. Additionally, six specialized student forces were formally introduced. These include the Audi Force, MC Force, Refreshment Force, Reception Force, Media and Reporting Force, and the Campus Care Force. In total, 66 student representatives were formally inducted.

The Secretary robed the executive members, while the Principal and Vice Principals robed the commanders. The Heads of Departments pinned badges on all 11 executive members and commanders, symbolizing their new roles and responsibilities.

A general Student Council Oath was proposed by Dr. P. Anand, Student Council Advisor, and taken collectively by all council members, affirming their dedication to serve the college community.

The newly elected Chairman, M. Patchai Perumal from III B.Com expressed his gratitude and shared his vision for an inclusive and active student council.

The program concluded with a thoughtful Vote of Thanks by Mr. P. Anand, followed by the National Anthem.

This event stood as a celebration of responsibility, leadership, unity, and student empowerment, and was proudly witnessed by the faculty, students, and dignitaries of the institution.
