Students Assembly: 7 Inspiring Activities for Student Development
Introduction
The Department of Economics, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, organised a Students Assembly on 07 August 2026 from 9.25 a.m. to 9.50 a.m.
The Students Assembly was conducted to bring together students and faculty members to review recent academic achievements and communicate the academic, co curricular and extension activities planned for the coming month. The programme also provided students with an opportunity to develop leadership, communication and public speaking skills.
Thirukkural Recitation
The Students Assembly commenced with the recitation of a Thirukkural by Antony Ashiya, II B.A. Economics.
He explained the meaning and relevance of the couplet, encouraging students to apply its moral values and ethical principles in their daily lives.
Student Presentations
The Students Assembly featured informative presentations delivered by students on various themes.
Berlin, II M.A. Economics, spoke on the significance of the upcoming departmental activities and encouraged students to participate actively in academic and co curricular programmes.
Mari Selvam, II M.A. Economics, narrated an inspiring moral story that highlighted the importance of honesty, kindness and perseverance in achieving success.
Sriya Mahalakshmi, I B.A. Economics, presented the day’s news and updated the gathering on important national, international and educational events.
