Student Induction Programme: 10 Powerful Lessons for Academic Excellence

Introduction

The Student Induction Programme 2026–2027 for the first-year aided students of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi continued successfully on 18 June 2026 at Kamarajar Kalvi Arangam. The third day of the programme featured a series of informative, motivational, value-based, and student-centred sessions aimed at helping new students begin their academic journey with confidence and clarity.

The Student Induction Programme day 3 was designed to guide students towards higher education awareness, personal transformation, leadership, discipline, physical fitness, moral values, and cultural participation. Through expert sessions and interactive activities, the programme encouraged students to make effective use of the opportunities available in the college and develop themselves academically, personally, and professionally.

Objectives of the Programme

The Student Induction Programme was organized with the objective of helping first-year students understand college life, academic expectations, career possibilities, and avenues for holistic development.

The major objectives of Student Induction Programme Day 3 were:

  • To create awareness about higher education and career planning
  • To motivate students towards personal growth and academic excellence
  • To introduce students to NCC activities and enrolment opportunities
  • To encourage participation in sports and physical fitness activities
  • To promote moral values, discipline, and positive thinking
  • To develop confidence through cultural exposure and participation

The Student Induction Programme day 3 sessions were carefully planned to support the overall development of students and help them adapt positively to the college environment.

Session on Bridge to Higher Education

The first session of the Student Induction Programme day 3 was conducted from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. by Mrs. Niveditha Robin, CEO of Pearl Group, on the topic “Bridge to Higher Education.”

She enlightened the students about the importance of higher education and the need to plan their academic journey with seriousness and vision. She explained how higher education opens doors to better career opportunities, professional development, social confidence, and lifelong learning.

The session helped students understand that college education is not limited to classroom learning alone. It is also a stage where students must identify their strengths, improve their skills, and prepare themselves for future academic and professional advancement.

Her address gave the students useful guidance on setting goals, making informed choices, and using college life as a strong foundation for future success.

Motivational Session on 15C for 10X

The second session was conducted from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. by Mr. Christy, Retail Strategist and Transformation Trainer, on the topic “15C for 10X.”

His session focused on personal transformation, success principles, and the importance of developing the right mindset for growth. He encouraged students to think beyond ordinary goals and work towards excellence with commitment, confidence, and consistency.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining hormonal balance, emotional stability, and overall well-being for achieving success in life. The session helped students understand that academic success and personal well-being are closely connected.

The Student Induction Programme session inspired students to focus on self-improvement, discipline, positive attitude, and purposeful action in their daily lives.

Introduction to NCC Opportunities

The third session of the Student Induction Programme day 3 was conducted from 11.45 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and introduced students to the opportunities available through the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Dr. X. Helen Flora, Coordinator of NCC Army Wing, and Mr. N. Boobalan, Coordinator of NCC Naval Wing, addressed the students and explained the activities, benefits, and enrolment procedures of NCC.

They highlighted how NCC helps students develop leadership, discipline, courage, teamwork, patriotism, social responsibility, and physical fitness. Students were encouraged to join NCC and use the platform to build confidence and a strong sense of service.

The session gave students a clear understanding of how NCC can contribute to personality development and future career opportunities.

Sports Activities and Student Enrolment

In the afternoon session, Dr. B. Ponnuthai, Part V Sports Coordinator, conducted a session on sports activities and facilitated the enrolment of interested students.

She explained the importance of physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and active participation in student life. Students were encouraged to take part in sports not only for physical strength but also for mental confidence, emotional balance, and healthy living.

The session helped students understand that sports play an important role in shaping leadership qualities, focus, resilience, and cooperation. Interested students were guided regarding participation and enrolment in sports activities offered by the college.

This session added strong value to the Student Induction Programme by emphasizing the importance of a sound body along with academic learning.

Session on Moral Values

The session from 2.15 p.m. to 2.45 p.m. was led by Shri Muralidhara Gopal Das, Secretary, ISKCON, Tirunelveli, on the topic “Moral Values.”

He spoke about the importance of ethics, discipline, positive thinking, self-control, respect, and value-based living. He explained that education becomes meaningful only when it is supported by good character and responsible behaviour.

The session encouraged students to develop moral strength, respect others, make thoughtful choices, and contribute positively to society. His message helped students understand the importance of values in shaping responsible citizens and successful individuals.

The moral values session was highly relevant for first-year students as they begin a new phase of academic and personal life.

Cultural Session by the Cultural Club

The day concluded with an entertaining and energetic cultural session organized by the Cultural Club. The students enjoyed vibrant performances that created enthusiasm and excitement.

The cultural session included:
