State Level Workshop on Career Settlement of Final Year Students – Commerce Dept.

The Department of Commerce conducted a “State Level Workshop on Career Settlement of Final Year Students” on 24th January 2024 at Seminar Hall (GJ Block), Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi. An effort was made for the final year students to make them aware of various opportunities and trends in the field of Commerce after the course completion in India and Abroad. The workshop begins with Tamil Greetings. Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Head & Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering and honored the resource person. The welcome Address was given by Ms. Aishwarya Banu student of B.Com.

The program was carried out for an effective 1-hour duration. The resource person for the session was Dr. V. Suresh, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, National Engineering College, Kovilpatti and it was organized by Dr. M. Palaniappan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The resource person gave an elaborative introduction about the various opportunities and scope in the field of Commerce.

He further highlighted that Career guidance plays a very important role in the lives of all individuals, as it helps in setting future goals and choosing careers. Career guidance is a much-needed service to those who did not plan for their future at an early stage; more should be done to assist the younger generations in personal career development.

At the end of the session, the students cleared their doubts by asking various questions regarding the confusion, they usually face while deciding their career. The program ended with a powerful vote of thanks by Ms. D. Aswini Karthiga, III B.Com B.

The total beneficiaries were about 124 students. All the students were highly motivated and enlightened about various opportunities after completing their Course. It was a very informative day for the students and faculty members who attended the session.
