Seminar on Trace Evidences in Forensic Science – Dept. of Chemistry

One Day State Level Seminar was organized by the PG and Research Department of Chemistry on 24.09.2024 on the topic “Trace Evidences in Forensic Science” at Seminar Hall (GJ block), Kamaraj College. The program was started with Tamilthai Vazhthu. Dr. S. Shailaja and Dr. J. Porkodi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, SFR College (Autonomous), Sivakasi acted as the Resource person of the program. The program commenced with a welcome address by Miss. Sowmiya Lincy of I M.Sc. The introduction of the resource person Dr. S. Shailaja was done by Dr. R. Rajkumar and Dr. J. Porkodi by Dr. K. Krishnaveni, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Kamaraj College. The Vice Principal, Dr. A. Arunachala Rajan honoured the resource person with a momento. Dr. S. Shailaja spoke in detail about the various types of Evidence in Crime Scene Investigation and their applications. Dr. J. Porkodi demonstrated the Drug Vs Crime through Forensic investigation. The session was highly interactive with resource person engaging with the students by asking questions and clarifying their doubts. The feedback from the students indicates that they found the session beneficial, and our department UG & PG students and other department students participated, gaining knowledge about the Crime Scene Investigation. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Vijaya Sankar from II B.Sc., and the entire program was effectively anchored by our department students council members. A total of 100 students actively participated and benefited. The National Anthem marked the end of the successful program.
