Seminar on Tamil Society: An Archaeological Perspective – History Dept.

The PG and research department of history, Kamaraj College organised a state level seminar on the topic “Tamil society : An archaeological perspective”. The seminar was inaugurated with the inaugural address and the lighting of Kuthu Vilakku by Dr B. Mary Hepzibai, Assistant professor of history, St Mary’s College .The first session started with the Welcome Address given by Miss.U.Lovely Chakma ( l M..A., History).The session was engaged by Dr C. Chella Pandian, Assistant professor of history ,Devanga Arts College, Aruppukottai.He gave a very inspirational speech on the topic “Tamil society under archaeological view”. The ll session was occupied by Mr .C .Sridhar, Amateur Archaeologist, Pandiya Nadu cultural foundation ,Madurai. Both the sessions were very informative and enlightning to all the students.Five colleges participated in this seminar and more than 250 students participated in the seminar and got benefited . The seminar concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr.K.Karuppaiah, Organizing secretary &Assistant professor of history, Kamaraj College .
