Seminar on History: Our Indigenous Glories of Art, Architecture and Heritage – History Dept.

The PG and Research Department of History Organized a National Level Seminar on the topic “History: Our Indigenous Glories of Art, Architecture and Heritage” on 27-9-2023. The inaugural session began with the welcome address by K.R.Jeyashree (l M.A, History). Then the inaugural speech was given by Prof.Capt. Dr.G.Andrews, Principal I/C, St.John’ s College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli. The first Resource person who occupied the I Session was Dr.J.Chalapathi Rao, Assistant professor of History, Kasthuriba College for Women, Vallianur, Puducherry. His topic was on ” Travel Accounts on indigenous History of South India with special reference to Erstwhile Madras Presidency” Then the second session was engaged by Dr.C.Natarajan, Professor, Annamalai University. He gave a relishing talk on the topic” Roots of Indian. Culture” Nearly ten college students participated and presented papers in Seminar.All the presented papers were published as E-Proceedings. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.M.Lavanya, Assistant professor of History, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi. The History Students’ Association members made all arrangements with the guidance of the Department Staff members.
