Seminar on Applications of Radio Isotopes and Nuclear Energy – Dept. of Physics

Department of physics, Kamaraj College, organised a seminar on Applications of Radio isotopes and nuclear energy in association with Koodankulam nuclear power project on 28th August 2024. The resource person P. Sundararajan, Scientific Officer/F,Environmental Survey Laboratory, Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project explained the functioning of nuclear reactor, safty measures and applications of nuclear energy. Dr. Jeyakumaran, Associate Professor, VHSNS College, Virudhunagar, gave a lecture about applications of radio isotopes and nuclear energy. Kudankulam nuclear power project exhibition was arranged. More than 500 students from schools and other departments of Kamaraj College visited the exhibition. Quiz and oral presentation competition was also conducted. St. Mary’s and Kamaraj College students won cash awards.
