
Recent Trends in Medico-Legal Jurisprudence
Department of Criminology and Police administration, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi organized Kalvi Thanthai kamarajar fifth special lecture in Chief guest Dr. C. Manoharan, M. D., Professor of forensic medicine & Police surgeon had arrived from the Coimbatore Medical College and has graciously consented to deliver the lecture on the theme “Recent Trends in Medico-legal Jurisprudence “. Due to Thiru. V. Ilangovan, Retired director, Department of Forensic science, Chennai, the student came to know some basic information about forensic science. At about 65 students actively participated in the session. The student learned the difference between forensic science and medicine. They listened keenly while Dr. Manoharan discussed the mysterious cases he handled. They learned some tactics how to identify the criminals using the trace evidence from the death body . They also learned the routes which the investigating officers are using to approach the criminals using the evidence which they found in the crime scene. And thus the three hours session organized by Mr. R. Rameshkannan, Assistant & Head of criminology and police administration, Kamaraj College,Thoothukudi and Mr. S. Siva Santhosh, Assistant professor of criminology and police administration indeed a useful for the students.
