On the eve of the 75th Independence Day Celebrations, a start-up & an awareness program were organized by the Green and Clean Club, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi in association with Disaster Management Trust, Thoothukudi on 12.08.2022. The program was started by planting Palm seeds on our college campus before Tamizhthai vazhthu. The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. J. Poongodi, Principal in charge of our college regarding how to maintain the greenery of the college campus. Thiru M. A. Dhamotharan, Managing Trustee, Disaster Management Trust, Thoothukudi, and State President Palm Tree Conservation and Federation has invited as chief guest and also delivered a special take on the conservation of Palm trees. HOD of Botany, Staff Members, and 100 students participated in this occasion. The welcome address was given by Ms. R. Rathi Meena, 3rd B.Sc. Botany. The introduction of the chief guest was given by Ms. I Mahima Jencia Salom. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. T. Kumareswari, Co-ordinator, Green and Clean Club. The program ended with the National Anthem.
