Palm Seed Sowing Ceremony 2026: Powerful 25,000 Seeds Sown by 250 NSS Volunteers

Palm Seed Sowing Ceremony involving 25,000 palm seeds and 250 NSS volunteers was organised in Thoothukudi on 24 September 2026 in connection with National Service Scheme Day.
The large-scale environmental initiative was held at the Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation Fertilizer Dump Yard, Thoothukudi. NSS volunteers from four colleges joined hands with the civic administration and voluntary organisations to promote environmental conservation and increased green cover.

The programme was jointly organised by the Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation, We Can Trust, NSS Unit 218 of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, and the NSS Units of A.P.C. Mahalaxmi Women’s College, Geetha Jeevan Arts and Science College, and St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, on behalf of Thoothukudi District NSS.
The programme brought together 250 NSS volunteers with the common objective of contributing to environmental conservation through collective action.
