Outreach Program – Dept. of English

On 15 July 2024, volunteers from the PG & Research Department of English (SF) went to Tharuvaikulam Government Higher Secondary School for the summit classes for 9th, 10th, and 11th standard students. The event aimed to enhance the students’ skills in positivity, planning, and balancing priorities through interactive and engaging sessions.
For the 9th standard the focus was on helping students recognize and harness positive aspects in their lives. The session included activities designed to boost self-esteem and promote a positive mindset, providing students with techniques to maintain a constructive outlook.
The session for the 10th standard students revolved around planning, particularly for their board exams. The importance of creating effective study schedules, prioritizing tasks, and avoiding procrastination was emphasized. Students were taught the TPN (To-Do List, Prioritize, Never Postpone) method to manage their study plans efficiently. This equiped students with the necessary skills to approach their board exams with confidence and clarity.
For the 11th standard, the focus was on balancing various aspects of life. The session covered strategies to manage academic responsibilities alongside personal and extracurricular activities. Practical tips and interactive exercises were provided to help students maintain equilibrium in their daily lives, ensuring overall well-being and academic success.
Finally, the summit classes were well-received by the students, who actively participated and showed enthusiasm in learning new skills.
