Mullakadu Beach – Coastal Cleaning Program

On behalf of Kamaraj college NSS unit No: 181 more than 200 students participated in the “Coastal Cleaning rogramme ” In Mullakadu beach areas which was jointly organized by National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) chennai, Government of India and India Coast Guard. Plastic and garbage wastes were cleaned safely from the areas of Mullakad beach under “Swatch Sagar -Surakshit Sagar (clean coast – safe sea) as a theme, which is undertaken all over India. Awareness cultural programmes were also performed. Best NSS students prize were given to, K. Bharani, Saravana kumar, Senthil 1st B.A Economics, S. Athil mohammad, P. Anitha, 2nd B.Sc chemistry, P. Sivapriya – 2nd B.Sc Zoology, Divya – 2nd B.Sc Botany. All the arrangements for this mega coastal cleaning programme were done by NSS program officer Dr. J. Nagarajan and Office Superintendent Mr. P. Saravanan under the guidance of college Principal (i/c) Dr. J. Poongodi.
