Microbiology Club Activity: 4 Exciting Events Engage 46 Students
Report on Microbiology Club Activity 2026
Microbiology Club Activity was organized by the Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, on 27 August 2026.
The programme featured four engaging events – Quiz, Word Ladder, Tissue Art and Express Without Words. A total of 46 students enthusiastically participated in the activities and showcased their knowledge, creativity, communication skills and teamwork.
The entire programme was successfully planned and conducted by the III B.Sc. Microbiology students. Their coordination, dedication and teamwork contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the programme.
Objectives of the Club Activity
The Microbiology Club Activity aimed to provide students with an engaging platform to demonstrate their abilities beyond regular classroom learning.
The major objectives included:
- Encourage active participation among students
- Test and strengthen students’ knowledge
- Promote creativity and artistic expression
- Improve vocabulary and quick-thinking abilities
- Develop communication skills
- Strengthen teamwork and coordination
- Encourage healthy competition among students
- Develop confidence through participation
Thus, the programme combined knowledge-based, creative and communication-oriented activities to provide students with a balanced learning experience.
46 Students Participate Enthusiastically
A total of 46 students participated enthusiastically in the four events.
The strong participation created an energetic atmosphere and reflected the students’ interest in departmental activities.
Moreover, the variety of events provided opportunities for students with different abilities to participate. While the Quiz tested knowledge, Word Ladder challenged vocabulary and thinking skills. Tissue Art encouraged creativity, while Express Without Words focused on non-verbal communication and teamwork.

Quiz Competition
The Quiz Competition provided students with an opportunity to test their knowledge, memory and ability to respond quickly.

The quiz encouraged students to recall information, think quickly and answer confidently.
Furthermore, such competitions motivate students to broaden their knowledge and develop an interest in learning beyond their regular syllabus.

Sneha M. secured the First Prize, while Jabin Fahmitha H. and Navina S. jointly secured the Second Prize in the PG category.
Quiz – UG Students Prize Winners
- I Prize – Saravana Ganesh V., I B.Sc. Microbiology
- II Prize – Vishal M., I B.Sc. Microbiology
- II Prize – Rithes Kumar S., I B.Sc. Microbiology
Saravana Ganesh V. secured the First Prize, while Vishal M. and Rithes Kumar S. jointly secured the Second Prize in the UG category.
Word Ladder Competition
The Word Ladder activity tested students’ vocabulary, concentration and ability to think quickly.
Participants had to work with words systematically while applying their language and reasoning skills.
The activity was both challenging and enjoyable. Moreover, it encouraged students to improve their vocabulary and approach language-based challenges creatively.

Express Without Words
Express Without Words was an engaging activity that encouraged students to communicate ideas without depending on spoken language.
Participants had to use expressions, gestures, observation and understanding to communicate effectively.
The activity demonstrated that communication involves more than words. Facial expressions, body language and gestures can also play an important role in conveying ideas.
Moreover, the event encouraged teamwork because participants needed to understand and respond to their teammates effectively.
