Mentor Mentee Meeting Criminology 2025 – Criminology Department

The Department of Criminology at Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, organized a valuable and engaging Mentor Mentee Meeting Criminology 2025 on 30 June 2025 (Monday). This interactive session was specially planned to guide students from both the B.A. Criminology and Police Administration and B.A. Criminology and Forensic Science streams. The event marked the beginning of a fresh academic journey for first-year students and offered continued support for senior students.

Purpose of the Mentor Mentee Meeting Criminology 2025

The main aim of this meeting was to provide academic and personal guidance through mentor-led interactions. Each group of students was addressed by their respective faculty mentors, who took time to introduce themselves, outline expectations, and explain how this mentorship system works to support students throughout their academic life. These interactions are intended to build trust, motivate students, and create a space for open communication.

Welcome to the First-Year Students

As the first-year classes began on the same day, the session started by welcoming the new students. Mentors gave a detailed explanation of the departmental structure, academic requirements, and classroom etiquette. They also shared the code of conduct, attendance rules, and internal assessment patterns. This helped the students feel more confident and prepared as they stepped into college life.

Guidance on Academic Progress

In addition to first-year guidance, the meeting addressed the performance of the second and third-year students. Mentors discussed the recent results – the Autonomous results for second-year students and the University examination results of the third-year students. The discussion aimed at encouraging students to reflect on their academic performance and seek help where required. Mentors suggested study plans, strategies for time management, and encouraged students to use library and departmental resources.

One-on-One Support and Relationship Building

What made this session truly meaningful was the opportunity for one-on-one communication. Students shared their doubts, concerns, and academic goals with their mentors in a safe and encouraging environment. Faculty members listened patiently and offered honest feedback and practical advice. These personal connections will help the students overcome challenges in their studies and personal growth.

Benefits of the Mentor-Mentee System

The mentor mentee system is one of the strengths of the academic culture at Kamaraj College. It helps in early identification of students who may need academic or emotional support and ensures timely help. It also builds confidence in students to express themselves and work on their weaknesses. Over time, these small meetings help in achieving big results in student development.

Conclusion

The Mentor Mentee Meeting Criminology 2025 held on 30 June 2025 was a powerful and meaningful session for all participants. It helped first-year students get a clear idea of how the department functions and what is expected from them. It also gave second and third-year students a moment to reflect on their academic journey so far. The faculty mentors were appreciated for their time, dedication, and care towards student growth.

This session truly reflected the commitment of Kamaraj College’s Criminology Department to nurturing future leaders through personal mentorship and academic excellence.
