Mega Cleanliness and Tree Planting Program – NSS Units 55, 181 & 216

On the behalf of Thoothukudi Day celebration, Kamaraj college NSS units 55, 181 & 216 pursuant to the order of Tirunelveli Regional Directorate of College education more than 50 NSS volunteers engaged in the sanitary and cleanliness works. Karuvelam thrones & weeds were removed from Thoothukudi District collector office Gate to administrative office and two sides of the foot path. 68 kg wastes were removed moreover, shadow and fruit giving trees were planted. Trees like Pungai, Banyan, Neem, and Tamarind were planted in the entrance of collector office’s varanda. The 150 kg Vermicompost produced on behalf of Kamaraj college Unnat Bharat Abhiyan was used in this planting work. District collector Dr. K. Senthilraj IAS and DRO Dr. S. Kannabiran initiated this tree planting ceremony. Collector appreciated and gave environmental based advices to excitingly participated students. Students took selfies with the collector. The arrangements for this mega cleanliness and Tree planting program were done by college superintendent Mr. P. Saravanan, Mr. M. Narayanan, Mr. R. Muthumumar, NSS Program officers Dr. J. Nagarajan (unit 181) , Dr. O. Nethaji (unit 55) and Tmty. K. Kalyani (unit 216) under the guidance of college Principal (i/c) Dr. J. Poongodi.
