Machine Learning Workshop: 10 Powerful Skills for AI

Introduction

The Machine Learning Workshop on “Core Intuition of Machine Learning” was successfully organized by the Department of Computer Science (SF) of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, in collaboration with Postulate Info. Tech. Pvt. Ltd., on 13 July 2026 at the Computer Lab, C V Raman Computer Science Block.

The one-day hands-on workshop was organized by the Student Council and witnessed the active participation of 53 students from final year MCA and M.Sc Computer Science with AI. The programme was conducted to provide practical exposure to Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, real-world implementation and career opportunities in the field of Data Science.

Objectives of the Workshop

The Machine Learning Workshop was organized to help students understand the basic intuition, practical use and career relevance of Machine Learning.

The major objectives of the workshop were:

  • To introduce students to the core concepts of Machine Learning
  • To provide hands-on exposure using real-world examples
  • To help students understand the implementation process of Machine Learning models
  • To create awareness about current trends in Artificial Intelligence
  • To guide students on career opportunities in Machine Learning and Data Science
  • To encourage students to develop technical and analytical skills
  • To motivate students to explore advanced concepts in AI and Machine Learning

The workshop helped students understand that Machine Learning is an important skill for the present and future technology industry.

Resource Person of the Workshop

The resource person for the workshop was Dr. P. Johnson Durai Raj, Founder and Managing Director, Postulate Info. Tech. Pvt. Ltd.

He guided the students through a practical and interactive session on the core intuition of Machine Learning. His approach helped students understand complex technical concepts in a simple and application-oriented manner.

The session was highly beneficial because the resource person connected theoretical concepts with real-world examples and explained how Machine Learning is used in modern technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

The programme commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Aishwarya M., III B.Sc Computer Science. She welcomed the resource person, dignitaries, faculty members, organizing team and student participants.

In her address, she encouraged all the participants to make effective use of the hands-on workshop and gain practical knowledge in Machine Learning. Her welcome address created a positive beginning to the programme and set the tone for an engaging learning session.

Introduction and Honouring of the Resource Person

Nithish Kanna T., III B.Sc Computer Science, introduced the resource person to the gathering. He highlighted the professional background and expertise of Dr. P. Johnson Durai Raj.

The resource person was honoured by Thiru Selva Murugan M.S., III B.Sc Computer Science. The honouring reflected the department’s appreciation for the valuable contribution of the resource person towards student learning and technical development.

This formal segment added dignity to the Machine Learning Workshop and prepared the students for the technical session.
