Leadership Training Workshop for Computer Science Students

On 29th August 2025, the Department of Computer Science of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, in collaboration with the Junior Chamber International (JCI), organized a highly engaging and inspiring Leadership Training Workshop. The session was held at the C. V. Raman Computer Science Block from 08.30 am to 11.00 am and was designed exclusively for both undergraduate and postgraduate final-year students.

The program aimed to provide young learners with essential leadership qualities, confidence, and communication skills that are necessary to excel in both academic and professional settings. This initiative reflects the college’s vision of creating future leaders who are capable of handling challenges with responsibility and integrity.

Inauguration of the Leadership Training Workshop

The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the dignitaries, trainers, faculty members, and students. The chief guest, Advocate C. Wilson Amirtharaj, Former President of JCI, graced the workshop with his presence. In his address, he shared valuable insights on how students can transform themselves into effective leaders by embracing discipline, teamwork, and ethical practices. His motivational speech encouraged participants to look beyond classroom learning and adopt leadership values in real-life situations.

Interactive Training Session by JCI

The workshop continued with an interactive session led by Ms. Rahmath Nisha, a distinguished national trainer of JCI. She captivated the audience with her practical approach to leadership development. Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and role-play exercises, she helped students understand the qualities that define a true leader.

She emphasized that leadership is not about authority but about responsibility, empathy, and the ability to guide others towards common goals.
