Chief Guest of the Programme

Mrs. M. L. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor of Kamaraj College, participated as the Chief Guest of the programme. She addressed the students and explained the importance of observing International Yoga Day across the world.

In her address, she stated that the main objective of the International Yoga Day is to help people attain a healthy body and peace of mind through the regular practice of yoga. She emphasized that yoga is beneficial for people of all age groups and that students can gain great advantage by practising it regularly.

Her speech helped the students understand that yoga improves not only physical strength and flexibility but also mental clarity, emotional stability, and positive thinking.

Importance of Yoga for Students

The programme focused strongly on the relevance of yoga in student life. Students often face academic pressure, distractions, stress, and emotional challenges. Yoga helps them develop focus, patience, discipline, and self-control.

The International Yoga Day session encouraged students to recognize the need for maintaining both physical health and mental peace. Through regular practice, students can improve concentration, reduce stress, manage emotions, and approach their academic responsibilities with confidence.

The session also reminded students that good health is an important foundation for academic excellence and personal growth.

Training in Meditation

As part of the programme, Mrs. M. L. Rajeswari trained the students in meditation techniques. She guided them on how meditation can calm the mind, improve attention, and help individuals become more aware of their thoughts and emotions.

The students were encouraged to practise meditation regularly to reduce stress and develop inner peace. The session helped them experience the importance of silence, stillness, and mindful breathing.

The meditation training formed an important part of the International Yoga Day observance, as it helped students understand the deeper purpose of yoga beyond physical movement.

Training in Breathing Exercises

The Chief Guest also trained the students in basic breathing exercises. She explained that proper breathing plays a vital role in maintaining good health, improving energy levels, and calming the nervous system.

The students practised simple breathing methods under her guidance. These exercises helped them understand how controlled breathing can improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and bring freshness to both body and mind.

The breathing practice session was highly useful for students, as it provided them with simple techniques that can be followed daily for better health and emotional balance.
