Introduction

The International Day of Yoga 2026 was celebrated successfully on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi. The programme was jointly organized by Kamaraj College (Autonomous) and Vivekananda Kendra, Thoothukudi Branch, at the college ground from 06.00 a.m. to 08.00 a.m.

The International Day of Yoga celebration brought together students and faculty members from various schools and colleges. Nearly 800 participants actively took part in the programme and benefited from guided yoga practices, breathing exercises, asanas, pranayama, preparatory exercises, and salutations. The event created awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical health, mental peace, discipline, and overall well-being.

Objectives of the Programme

The International Day of Yoga programme was organized with the objective of promoting yoga as a valuable practice for physical fitness, mental strength, emotional balance, and healthy living.
