International Conference on Digital Economy of India – A Pathway to Development – Economics Dept.

The ICSSR sponsored Two- Day International Conference on “Digital Economy of India – A Pathway to Development” was held 27th & 28th July 2023. organised by the Department of Economics, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi held in Seminar Hall. During the first day on 27th July, 2023 the inaugural function started by 10.00 am with invocation song of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Honourable secretary of Kamaraj College Thiru P.S.P.K.J. Somasundaram @ Somu presided over the function by lighting the standing lamp with other dignitaries. The Convenor of the Conference Dr.R.Prabhavathy welcomed the dignitaries & delegates. Honourable Principal of the Kamaraj College Dr.J.Poongodi delivered presidential address. The cheif guests are introduced by Mr. A. Velkumar. The chief guest of the conference Dr.Dhulasi Brindha Varatharajan, The Former chair person of Madurai Kamarajar University Madurai delivered Inaugural Address. In her speech, she mentioned that the topic of this conference is highly relevant to discuess about “Digital Economy of India – A Pathways to Development”. Dr.Ruksana Banu compares the digitalization initiatives in India and Oman and put forth the best practices that Oman adopted, and that India can follow. The two-day conference provided a platform for students, scholars, academicians, and practitioners to engage in interaction on the prospects and challenges of the digital economy in India. The conference was chaired by Dr.P.Arunachalam (CUSAT, Cochin), Dr.D.Kathiravan (John’s College, Tirunelveli),. He firmly believes that the deliberations of this conference would be useful . The inaugural session was ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. A. Govindharaju, followed by the first day two technical sessions were ended. The Second day third technical session was started with the delivering of key note address by Dr. C. Paramasivan, Assistant Professor & Research Advisor, PG & Research Department of Commerce, Thanthai Periyar Government College of Arts & Science (A), Trichy. Followed by the invite speakers Dr.A.Annadurai (Madras Christan College, Chennai, Dr.(Lt. Cdr).Asok, Vice Principal, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi, technical session was handled by Dr.C.Muniyandi Assistant Professor, Department of Economatrics, School of Economics, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, in the session there are 30 paper presenter have presented their papers. Finally The valedictory function was started by 3.00 pm Dr.K. Sadasivam, Formar Register, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Economics, School of Economics, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and Dr.P. Ravichandran, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Econmics, GTN College, Dindigul,has delivered chief guest address. The Chief Guest distributed the certificates to the paper presenters nearly 135 participants. Finally the Conference Director Dr.V. Thangamayan proposed vote of thanks to all the contributors who are responsible for successful completion and involved of this International Conference.
