Industrial Visit: Reliance Mall, Nagercoil – Commerce Dept.

On 23rd January 2025, the Department of Commerce (SF) at Kamaraj College (Autonomous) organized an enriching industrial visit to Reliance Mall, Nagercoil, for 60 B. Com students. The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the operations of an e-commerce platform and foster a deeper understanding of modern retail and digital commerce practices. During the visit, the students were given a live demonstration of the entire process of buying and placing orders through an e-commerce platform. Experts at Reliance Mall detailed each step, from browsing products and managing a shopping cart to completing secure online transactions. The session was highly interactive, allowing students to actively engage, ask questions, and clarify their understanding of the technical and functional aspects of e-commerce. The students were accompanied by two faculty members, Mr. M. Thangajesu Sathish, Assistant Professor of Commerce, and Ms. Smeha John Machado, Assistant Professor of English, who guided them throughout the visit and ensured a fruitful learning experience. This hands-on experience bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, equipping students with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving world of digital commerce. The visit also emphasized the importance of adaptability and innovation in the contemporary business landscape. The students returned inspired and equipped with practical knowledge, ready to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the commerce sector.
