The PG and Research Department of Physics of Kamaraj College (Autonomous) Thoothukudi organized the prestigious ICAEM 2025 International Conference on Advanced Energy Materials on 5 December 2025. Held on the college campus from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, the conference brought together students, young researchers and faculty members from various states of India. The event created a dynamic academic environment where participants learned, shared and explored innovative concepts related to advanced energy technologies.

Traditional Inauguration Setting a Meaningful Tone
The programme opened with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku, symbolizing wisdom, knowledge and the beginning of a purposeful academic gathering. Dr. S. Kanagaprabha, Associate Professor of Physics, delivered the welcome address. She introduced the conference theme and emphasized the importance of advanced materials research in global energy development. Her detailed remarks prepared the participants for a day of intensive learning.
Honoring the Guest and Leadership
The resource person, Dr. Amarsingh Babu Kanagaraj, Post Doctoral Researcher at Khalifa University Abu Dhabi, was welcomed with a shawl and memento by Thiru. P.S.P.K.J. Somu, Secretary of Kamaraj College. This gesture added warmth and dignity to the programme.
The Principal, Dr. K. Bhanumathi, delivered the Presidential Address. She appreciated the Physics Department for hosting ICAEM 2025 at an international level and highlighted the relevance of research in energy solutions to address global challenges.
The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. S. R. Balaji, Assistant Professor of Physics. He encouraged the participants to utilize the conference to exchange ideas, gain new insights and explore future research pathways.
Keynote Lecture on Advanced Energy Materials
The keynote session by Dr. Amarsingh Babu Kanagaraj was a major highlight of ICAEM 2025. His lecture titled Highly Efficiency Solid Electrolytes for Intermediate Temperature SOFC offered deep insights into the latest developments in solid oxide fuel cell technology.
