Guest Lecture and Documentary Screening on Lake Conservation through Environmental Communication – Visual Communication Dept.
The Department of Visual Communication, Kamaraj College, organized a Guest Lecture and Documentary Screening on “Lake Conservation through Environmental Communication” 10th January 2025 at the Viscom AV Hall. The event focused on the importance of lake conservation and environmental communication.
Guest Speaker:
Mr. S. Maharaja, from the Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I), delivered an insightful lecture on the ecological importance of lakes, challenges in restoration, and the role of effective communication in fostering environmental awareness.
Documentary Screening:
Three documentaries by E.F.I were screened:
1. Kadapan Kulam
2. Therikadu
3. Aadi Peruku
These highlighted lake restoration success stories and the cultural significance of water bodies. The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Suresh (Organizing Secretary) and a team of faculty members, including Mr. G. Srinivasa Manikandan, Ms. Marieswari, Mrs. S. Vaishnavi, and Ms. Packiya Lakshmi, with active participation from Visual Communication students. The program was a success, inspiring students to contribute to environmental sustainability.
