Field Visit: V.O.C Harbour, Thoothukudi – Dept. of History

The Department of History organized a one-day educational field visit to V.O.C Harbour, Thoothukudi, on 05.09.2024. The students had the opportunity to explore the port and gain insights into its operations. They observed various activities at the port, including cargo handling, shipping procedures, and the logistics involved in harbour management. This visit provided them with a practical understanding of the import and export aspects of port operations. This visit enriched the students’ knowledge about the functioning of one of the major harbours in India and second harbour in tamilnadu.
