Field Visit: Solar Salterns Salt, Thoothukudi – Zoology Dept.

On behalf of Thoothukudi Kamaraj college PG & Research Department of Zoology organised an Artemia culture, Thoothukudi solar salterns salt pan field visit on 25-02-2025. Artemia Research Consultant & Assistant professor of Zoology Dr.J.Nagarajan handled the skill development technical session and explained Salt cum Artemia production has become a profitable business. Integrated Artemia production is not only attractive from a social economic point of view but also stimulates the development of local aquaculture especially in those countries which do not have hard currency for importing Artemia cysts. More than 60 students actively engaged and benefited from this field visit subject job opportunity oriented programme.
