
Field Visit: 5th Book Festival Thoothukudi – Dept. of Commerce
The 5th Book Festival held in Tuticorin was a grand event, drawing bibliophiles, students, and academics from all corners of the region. Among the notable attendees was a delegation from the Department of Commerce, (SF), Kamaraj College (Autonomous), led in collaboration with the Youth Red Cross. On 10th October, 2024 the department took the initiative to encourage intellectual curiosity by guiding its students to this vast book exhibition, which showcased a diverse range of literary works, academic publications, and research resources. The festival, renowned for promoting reading culture and lifelong learning, provided students with a unique opportunity to explore various genres and interact with authors and publishers. The participation of the Commerce department not only emphasized the importance of knowledge beyond textbooks but also strengthened the relationship between education and community engagement. The YRC’s involvement further highlighted the spirit of social responsibility, making this visit a holistic experience that broadened students’ horizons and enriched their academic journey. Dr. V. Narayani and Mr. M. Thangajesu Sathish, Assistant Professor of Commerce accompanied 68 beneficiaries to the event.
