Extension Activity: T.D.T.A. Abishekanathar High School, Kulayankarisal – Commerce Dept.


On 22nd January 2025, the Department of Commerce (SF) at Kamaraj College (Autonomous) conducted an extension activity at T.D.T.A. Abishekanathar High School, Kulayankarisal. The program, led by 15 girls from the II M.Com class, aimed to educate students on commerce and management concepts through interactive and engaging activities. The program commenced with an introductory session on trade and market dynamics, where students were taught how goods and services are priced and sold in local and global markets. A discussion on small business ideas encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities within their community, with a focus on agricultural and local products. To promote practical understanding, a session on supply chain management was conducted, explaining how goods move from producers to consumers. Interactive games added energy to the event. A management-oriented activity called “Resource Allocation” challenged students to effectively utilize limited resources to achieve a group goal, enhancing their planning and problem-solving skills. A team-based leadership game encouraged students to work collaboratively while developing critical thinking and leadership qualities. The event concluded with a session on financial literacy, emphasizing the importance of saving, investing, and understanding financial tools. The school students actively participated in the activities and appreciated the program’s practical insights. The Department of Commerce (SF) expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the school authorities for their cooperation and support in making the event a meaningful experience.
