Extension Activity: Kindness Connect YRC & Commerce Dept
On 17th July 2025, a group of forty enthusiastic students from the Department of Commerce (Self-Financing), Kamaraj College (Autonomous), along with two dedicated faculty members, embarked on a touching and meaningful extension activity titled Kindness Connect. The initiative was designed to foster compassion and build bridges of empathy between generations.
As part of this noble outreach, the team visited Anbu Ullangal, a respected old age home known for its commitment to elderly care. The primary aim of the visit was to spread warmth, compassion, and a sense of belonging among the senior residents. With genuine smiles, open hearts, and attentive ears, the students engaged in heartfelt conversations with the elders, listening to their life experiences, sharing moments of joy, and reflecting on the value of intergenerational bonding.
In a thoughtful gesture of love and care, the team organized and served a wholesome lunch, personally ensuring that every resident felt appreciated, respected, and deeply cared for. The interactions and shared experiences created a vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter, nostalgia, and mutual respect.
This initiative not only uplifted the spirits of the residents at Anbu Ullangal but also left a lasting impression on the students. It instilled in them a profound sense of social responsibility, empathy, and the importance of community service. The visit truly stood as a powerful testament to the enduring impact of kindness and the transformative strength of human connection.
