English Quiz Competition: 10 Powerful Ways to Improve Grammar
Introduction
The English Quiz Competition was successfully conducted by the PG and Research Department of English (SF) of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 13 July 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Block Seminar Hall. The quiz was based on Basic English Grammar and Vocabulary.
The programme was organized to improve students’ language competence, confidence, teamwork and interest in English learning. It provided an active platform for students to test their knowledge, think quickly and participate in a healthy academic competition.
Objectives of the Competition
The English Quiz Competition was organized to encourage students to improve their English language skills through an interactive learning activity.
The major objectives of the competition were:

Quiz Master and Core Team
Mr. P. John Giptan Samuel served as the quiz master for the competition. He conducted the quiz in an engaging and effective manner, keeping the participants active and interested throughout the programme.
The core team consisted of Mr. P. Sibi Priyan, Mr. T. Thirushothaman, Mr. B. Prasath and Ms. K. Raganiranjini. They supported the smooth conduct of the quiz and contributed to the successful completion of the event.
The combined efforts of the quiz master and the core team made the programme lively, organized and student-friendly.
Participation of Teams
A total of 16 teams took part in the English Quiz Competition. The participation of many teams made the event competitive, energetic and enjoyable.
The students participated with confidence and enthusiasm. They listened carefully, discussed answers within their teams and responded actively during the rounds. The event encouraged students to work together and use their language knowledge in a practical and exciting way.
