The Discipline Awareness Programme was conducted successfully for the first-year students of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 23 June 2026 at 9.30 a.m. in the Golden Jubilee Block. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among newly admitted students about the importance of discipline, responsible behaviour, punctuality, respect, self-control and values in day-to-day life.
The session helped students understand that discipline is an essential quality for academic success, personal development and future career growth. As first-year students begin their college journey, such awareness programmes play an important role in guiding them to follow institutional rules, maintain good conduct and develop a positive attitude towards learning and life.
Objectives of the Programme
The Discipline Awareness Programme was organized to guide students on the importance of disciplined behaviour in college and society.

Welcome Address
Dr. Raziya Banu, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering. In her welcome address, she greeted the dignitaries, faculty members and first-year students.

Felicitation Address
The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. Snow Reena, Assistant Professor, Department of English. She appreciated the organization of the programme and emphasized the importance of discipline in academic institutions.

Honouring of the Chief Guest
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Bhavani Hariraman, Principal of Sri Lalitha Vidyalaya CBSE School, was honoured during the programme. She was honoured with a shawl by Dr. R. Bala Saraswathi, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by Dr. S. Ramar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Economics. The honouring reflected the institution’s respect and appreciation for the Chief Guest’s presence and contribution to student guidance.

Mrs. Bhavani Hariraman, Principal of Sri Lalitha Vidyalaya CBSE School, delivered an excellent special address on discipline and responsible living.
In her address, she gave valuable advice to the students on the discipline to be followed in day-to-day life. She emphasized that discipline begins with small habits such as punctuality, respectful communication, proper dress code, regular attendance, careful listening, responsible use of time and sincere involvement in studies.
