Communicative Skills for Public Speaking – English Dept.

The Inauguration of English Literary Association was held by the Research Department of English on 13-09-2022 in the Smart Hall at 11.30 a.m. Dr. M. Hermina, Asst. Prof. of English, St.Mary’s College, Thoothukudi delivered a speech on “Communicative Skills for Public Speaking”. The Principal, Dr. J. Poongodi felicitated and inagurated “The English Literary Association”. Dr. A. Shanti, Head of the English Department proposed the welcome address. Prof. M. Ummu Jasmine organised the event. The student organizers are P. Yoga Dharshini II B.Sc. Maths, V. Divya II B.Sc. Chemistry, S. Selva Vikas I B.com. The prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the winners of the Elocution and Essay Writing competitions which were held in the last academic year. Nearly 300 students got benefitted and learned the importance of speaking English and the different techniques to learn it.
